Figuerola del Camp: The viewpoint of Camp

Be sure not to miss: the literary route through the streets of the municipality, which you should do as a family. Visit the many public and private museums and walk to the Mixarda Tower (BCIN) passing the medieval bridge of the Diable. From Figuerola you can climb a circular route to the Tossal Gros (867 m) with incredible views of Alt Camp and the Conca de Barberà.

Figuerola del Camp is set at an altitude of 474 m, at the foot of the Tossal Gros, forming a cluster around the old castle. The municipality includes the area of Miramar, about 600 m above sea level with beautiful views of the Camp and a highly recommended Romanesque church.

The parish church of Sant Jaume is baroque and was built on a former Romanesque church from the XII-XIII centuries. The Agricultural Union is from 1921 and still has an authentic, old-fashioned café. If you want to know the corners of the old town and the historical heritage of the municipality, you should go on the literary tour, “Poetic postcards from Figuerola del Camp”: enjoyable for all the family. Figuerola has much to offer, artistically and archaeologically: the Municipal Ethnographic and Historical Museum and three museums from the Private Catalan Foundation for Iberian Archaeology with some very interesting objects.

Following the path towards Fontscaldes, 200 m from Mas d'en Llop, a path leads to Cova del Gat. This is a funeral cave where bones, ceramic fragments, arrowheads, necklace drains, coins and remains of rudimentary paintings have been found. Not too far away is the Mixarda Tower (BCIN), a watchtower and defence tower from the 17th century, which belonged to the Poblet monastery at the time of the “Moors on the coast”. Inside is the Torres de Vigía Interpretation Centre for the region. The museums and Tower can be visited by booking at the Town Hall.
