Royal Monastery of Santes Creus: open for reform works

The Royal Monastery of Santes Creus adapts to public visits during the restoration works of the Gothic cloister.

Are you planning to visit the Royal Monastery of Santes Creus soon? While restoration work is being carried out on the Gothic cloister, the monument is open to the public. In addition, a camera and a screen have been installed in the sarcophagus restoration space that will allow you to see live how the work is carried out!

Did you know that during the restoration of the sarcophagi an exceptional find has been made? Intact funerary remains belonging to members of the Catalan nobility of the 13th and 14th centuries that will now be studied to find out who they were, what their diet was like, the diseases they suffered from or their living and working conditions.

The Monastery will be opened from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm and the last screening of the audiovisual "El món del Cister" will be at 4.30pm.

The visits are in Catalan and Spanish depending on the time chosen. The visit lasts 90 minutes and the price is €4 for those over the age of 8 (does not include entrance to the monument).

It is recommended to book in advance on the website reservesmonuments.acdpc@gencat.cat or on the phone 977 63 85 56.
